Equinox Meditation Experience

During the equinox, the Sun crosses what we call the “celestial equator”—an imaginary extension of Earth’s equator line into space. The equinox occurs precisely when the Sun’s center passes through this line. When the Sun crosses the equator from north to south, this marks the autumnal equinox; when it crosses from south to north, this marks the vernal equinox.

(from the Old Farmer's Almanac)

The forthcoming Equinox takes place on Tuesday, September 22. In the Northern hemisphere, it marks the onset of Autumn with the days growing shorter. In the Southern hemisphere, it marks the beginning of Spring with the days growing longer.

As the sun crosses the celestial equator, a magnetic wave is generated flowing through the earth and us as well, shifting all of our magnetic fields. We naturally adjust to each equinox shift, but we can re-calibrate more effectively by getting out in nature and lying upon the earth's surface, bringing our magnetic field into coherence with hers.

Moreso, we are supported at this time when we practice techniques that bring balance to our minds and bodies. While there is equal day and equal night, equal dark and equal light, we are supported in our efforts to restore balance within our bodies, our minds, and our lives.

In the spirit of celebrating cosmic events, and aligning ourselves with nature, we are gathering at Westwillow Park to share an Equinox Meditation Experience. All the while, socially distanced and safe!

If you can join us, please wear something comfortable, bring your mask, your water bottle, along with blankets, yoga mats, pillows, ideally made of natural fibers, so you can comfortably stretch out upon the earth. There is plenty of space for us all to receive mother Gaia's grounding, healing, balancing energy.

Together, we will begin with a gentle yoga practice, stretching our bodies and opening up our energetic light pipes in preparation for balancing breath-work practices followed by a deeeeeeply relaxing gong and crystal bowl sound bath.

Our practice will be at 6 pm and end at 7:15 pm. Please try to arrive at least 15 minutes before we commence to park your vehicle and then create your practice space :)

We will practice at Westwillow Park on the west side of the dog park.
